#27 - Interview with BIGSOUND

Kaleb Collings

The annual Brisbane based festival, BIGSOUND, produced by Q Music will run across 21 venues in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley between September 6 to 9, in tandem with its accompanying industry conference.

SK's Kaleb Collings chats with the festivals programmers Dom and Ruby to find out more about BIGSOUND, and what we can expect from this years lineup, including some fun things in celebration of the festivals 21st birthday.

By day, the industry’s leading players gather at the BIGSOUND Conference to grapple with the big issues of the day, laying out a roadmap for a future that addresses changing industry and audience dynamics, post-COVID business transition, cultural change, inclusivity and innovation, gender equality and safety, international economics and domestic politics.

By night, the big live music party kicks off and discovering the future of music comes to the fore, as some 100+ artists showcase their talent at the BIGSOUND Festival in venues across the festival's spiritual home in the Fortitude Valley live music precinct.

The future of music is at BIGSOUND in 2022.
