Brisbane’s metalcore band, Among The Ruined, have returned with their first release since 2020. A track about the struggles of pursuing a career in music, with the yearning and desire to see your goals through to the end. The track, titled The Road has a blend of influences, with tastes of Bring Me The Horizon and Polaris. Even with these influences, the band’s sound is still unique.
The Road begins with an air of suspense and melancholy. Lead singer Paddy Creamer sings gently as the suspense builds, before the song erupts into a full-throttle, metalcore anthem. The layers of guitars, hard hitting drums, and driving bass carries the song to the first verse.
This is the first song from their upcoming album Common Creature, set to debut in September of this year, that was self produced by the band and mixed by Justin Aufdemkampe (a member of American metalcore band Miss May I)

The track’s bridge is met with guttural screams and a breakdown that wouldn't fail to hypnotise their crowd into a body swinging, crowd surfing sea of people in the pit.
