Introducing: Loretta, The Band That's Ready To Go, If You Are Too

Driven by its resolute rhythmic section and stadia-esque production, ‘Dad’s Mercedes’ is a compelling slice of infectious indie-rock; shining brightly with a myriad of hook-laden melodies.

As the track effortlessly unfolds, front man Ellis Hall’s vocals glide elegantly above layers of deftly composed instrumentation, to deliver on a stunningly arranged piece that explores feelings of young love, and the excitement that accompanies it.

The band describe the motivation behind the track:

"Lyrically, this one came from a time in our lives when we felt like love had lower stakes. Exploring the narrative of two young lovers chasing after one another, in a place where you may be ready for love and relationships and all that comes with it; but one of you can't quite commit, both being fully aware of each other's feelings. It comes from a happy place where nothing feels like it needs to be too serious. We made sure to capture that feeling sonically; it needed to feel youthful."

To coincide with the release, the band will traverse the East Coast performing seven shows, including stops in Gunaikurnai/San Remo, Naarm/Melbourne, Awabakal/Newcastle, Tharawal/Wollongong, Meanjin/Brisbane, Eora/Sydney, and Wiradjuri/Bathurst for Vanfest. They’ve previously shared stages with the likes of COTERIE and Thundamentals, and sold-out multiple headline shows at Oxford Art Factory, The Lansdowne and The Beresford.
