Nocturnal Animals Deliver 'A Simple F*&k You'

India Wallis

Scathing punk-rock and tongue-in-cheek sass collide on the new track ‘A Simple Fuck You’ from Adelaide/Tarndanya trio Nocturnal Animals, out on now.

Well-versed in producing high energy, angst-driven alt-rock/punk anthems, this is the group’s third new release this year, following the invigorating ‘Where’s My Mind Been?’ and pop-punk dance-worthy belter ‘Dancing In The Blood’. They’ve just shared the stage with The Buoys in support of Psychedelic Porn Crumpets on the local leg of their album tour, have previously supported DZ Deathrays, and have also played to sold-out crowds in their hometown for four of their own headline shows.

Now, they’re hitting where it hurts with post-breakup bitterness, but in a way that just sounds so good, with the punchy ‘A Simple Fuck You’.

This is modern punk. If you're looking for The Clash or Sex Pistols you won't find it here but there is some similarity to The Ramones and modern pop-punk icons Green Day. It's got the typical elements of a pop-punk song - tongue in cheek lyrics, crunchy guitars, driving rhythm section and faux American accents. It's fun and we can imagine a room full of punters joining in for a raucous sing-a-long.

The band will be touring with Jurassic (Melbourne) and Deadshowws (Newcastle) celebrate; more information below.
