'Encircle' is an embodiment of the cherished riff-heavy Nonberk from previous releases, with a breath of fresh air from the Brisbane-based alt-rocker's new lineup and unrelenting technical virtuoso.
This release marks the new evolution of a fully self-produced Nonberk, as the band wields full creative control towards their vision of a sound that truly captures their exciting blend of classic and emerging alternative rock, gathering upon the extensive collective influence of each member's evolution over the years.
The formidable alternative rock outfit, Nonberk returns to shake the Brisbane live music scene on November 11th with their highly anticipated release show for 'Encircle' at The Bearded Lady, joined by Atlas Boge and the MYRAGE., as well as a special under-18's matinee performance at Music Industry College's venue 38 Berwick Street joined by upcoming youth bands Vondetto and Cutouts (1pm-4pm).
Since their self-titled debut in 2020 and subsequent 2021 Invented Unknown EP release, the group returns from hiatus with a lineup change to present a new sound, carefully interweaving intricate emotional complexities, relentlessly groovy riffs, heavy-hitting songwriting, and of course, the same epic hair. Newest member and bassist Kevin Boga takes the role of producer for the new Nonberk, assisted by co-producer and drummer Samuel Monk. Vocalist and guitarist Zac Thompson has wielded the role of creating a new image for the band, creating exciting visuals in their music video for Encircle and on social media.
Having collectively played nearly every existing Brisbane venue, this power trio knows the ropes and is guaranteed to take you for a hell of a ride. Expect obscenely heavy yet groovy riffs, laced with delicate emotional complexities, and wrapped up in unanimously epic hair pertaining to an incredibly approachable but endlessly exciting novel sound.
