Reckless Coast Share Bittersweet Rock Ballad 'Burn Street'

Meanjin/Brisbane-based indie-rock band Reckless Coast have returned with their spirited single 'Burn Street' – produced by Cody McWaters (The ChatsKing Stingray) and mixed by Jono Frowd.

'Burn Street' ignites with vibrant chugging guitars before Jaeden Ogston's vocals, exuding both grit and authenticity, soar above the propelling instrumentation. As the rhythm section kicks in, it drives an irresistible groove, crafting a stadium-sized atmosphere.

Reckless Coast talk about the inspiration behind 'Burn Street':

"'Burn Street' is the location of my first share house. It was like a little family… picture the most ideal and perfect home/living situation and that's what it was like. However, after only 8 months, the lease came up for renewal and we all parted our separate ways. The share houses that followed never came close to being like Burn Street, and I realised that it would be the closest thing to a home I had."

To coincide with the release, the band have announced an east coast tour of Australia, with dates across Eora/Sydney, Naarm/Melbourne, Meanjin/Brisbane, Yugambeh/Gold Coast, and Mulubinba/Newcastle. The band have previously supported the likes of The Delta Riggs, The Southern River BandPress Club and have sold out multiple shows across their hometown.

Accompanying the release is the candid music video directed by Aaron Griffiths and filmed/edited by Ryan Kovchenco. Featuring performance shots in a room setting, it creates a sense of familiarity and nostalgia through the timelapse sequences of posters being put up and taken down on the walls. As the performance continues, subtle transformations in the room reflect coming-of-age themes, symbolising the inevitability of change and the feeling of leaving behind the only place that felt like home.
